How do I use the holdings dashboard?

This article will show you how to access the holdings dashboard and provides a summary of the features that are available on the website for viewing your portfolio holdings

The holdings dashboard allows you to view the holdings of instruments in your portfolio or portfolio group

1. Accessing the holdings dashboard

You can access the holdings dashboard either via: 1) the navigation panel on the top left corner, or 2) the app tray on the top right corner.

Next, select the "Holdings" tab.

2. Using the holdings dashboard

Select the portfolio or portfolio group you would like to view by clicking "Choose a portfolio or a group".

 

Instrument holdings

Once you have selected your portfolio or portfolio group you will be able to view a list of your instruments, with information including:

  • Sub-holdings
  • Holding type
  • The number of units
  • The number of settled units
  • The cost 
  • Instrument currency (specified on the transaction or when holdings are set)

You can add your own properties to the table via the view configurator.

Transactions

To view the transactions that make up a holding, click on the Units or Settled Units for an instrument.

Clicking on the "gain/loss" icon will provide a summary of the transaction.

You can also visit the transactions dashboard to view transactions in more detail.

Commands

Every time you make a request to change a portfolio in LUSID, the system captures your request as a command. Each API request maps to a single command.

The commands pane allows you to audit when a particular change happened, who requested it, and what other data may have changed as part of the same request.

Bi-temporal capabilities

In addition, with LUSID's bi-temporal capabilities, you can view the state of the portfolio at any given effectiveAt or asAt date by using the date selector in the top right corner of the holdings dashboard.
